Women’s Football: Northern Ladies FC denies team manager’s comment on lorry fair

There is a story published by ghanasoccernet on 14th August 2020 suggesting that Northern Ladies Management cannot afford lorry fair for players to join the national team mates.

According to the story, the Team Manager, Ibrahim Iddrisu granted an interview with Happy FM and has disclosed this to the public.

When the Head Coach, Sumani Bashirudeen was contacted, he expressed shock and disappointment in the story, stating that “there is no such thing in Northern Ladies”.

“I was shocked to the bone when my attention was drawn to the story”, the visibly disturbed head coach said.

He also indicated, “this is not the first time Northern ladies players have gained national team call up, we have always prepared our players and will continue to do so”.

The players left Tamale yesterday, August 13, 2020 with a private vehicle to enable the team observe the COVID -19 protocols and are currently at the national team camp.

Mukarama Abdulai, Barikisu Ishahaku and Rahama Jafar are part of the provisional list of the National U-20 female team announced yesterday.

Seidu Faiza and the team captain Akaheeh Doris also gain call up to the National U-17 female team short list.

The Head Coach of the team also indicated that the Team Manager is not the official spokesperson of the team and that story should be disregarded.

According to him, there is no such hope in the team and urged the general public to disregard the story.

The story has received so much criticisms on social media and many castigated the team for that story.

“Why put such a disgraceful story onto the public domain?”, some social media users quizzed.

The Head Coach expressed his gratitude and joy for having his players being recognized at the national level. He wish all the players the very best of luck.
