The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tamale North Constituency has opened a Book of Condolence for the late former President Rawlings, yesterday Thursday, November 19.
The Book will be opened to the general public at the party’s constituency office from 9 am to 5 pm till further notice.
At the occasion to open the book, the NDC constituency treasurer, Alhaji Abdul Salman Faris said this was to honor the late former president Jerry John Rawlings for his contribution towards the development of the north.
The party’s constituency vice chaiman, Amadu Yussif signed the book on behalf of the Member of Parliament for the Tamale Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini.
Former CDR Regional Coordinator for Northern Region under PNDC and Former Chief Executive, Tamale Metro, Alhaji Y. M. B. Ibrahim said Rawlings’contribution towards the development of the north is unmatched, and there was the need to immortalise the late president.
“Sir, you are gone, but you are with us. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of northern region and o Ghana. My boss, the whole country cannot forget your contribution to the development of Ghana.

Kanvili’s kanbon Naa, who plays the role of army commander in the community graced the occasion with his entourage to fire guns salute in honor of the fallen hero, President Rawlings.
President Rawlings died last week at Korleybu hospital in Accra following a short illness.
The NDC general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has announced that the party has opened a book of condolence at all levels of the party structure in his honor.
