The largest Islamic sect in the Northern Region, Anbariya Suni Community has called for peaceful elections, as Ghana goes to the polls in less than a week.

This, the leadership of the institute, led by Sheik Saeed Zakaria through Sheikh Abubakari Tanko stated at a press conference in Tamale today, December 2, 2020.

According to Afa Jarijah Hussein-Saeed, the institution does this every four (4) years, whenever elections are approaching, and it is not a new thing they have embarked on.

He said the leadership of the Anbariya has directed all their branches across the region to factor peace and fairness in their sermons during this coming Friday Jummah prayers.

Dr. Tamin Abubakari Saeed disclosed that the community is preaching on electorates’ constitutional rights to exercise their franchise and how to conduct themselves before, during and after the the December 7 elections.

Speaking on behalf of the head of the Anbariya Suni Community, Sheikh Saeed Zakaria charged the security personnel, media and the electoral commision to be fair in discharging their duties to avoid violence in the country.
