Ghanaians woke up with a shock of their life, when social media got awash with pictures of members of parliament belonging to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with some of them seriously sleeping on the right benches of the house.
This, was to do to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus what they did to them, their counterparts in NPP caucus last week, January 1, during the sitting to elect speaker of parliament.
Information gathered by this portal indicates that as early as 4 a.m. this morning of Friday, January 15, the seats reserved for majority MPs were already occupied by NPP caucus.
But, many Ghanaians including some former legislators think the action was needless, saying the NPP MPs could do better.
“NPP MPs already in parliament for a sitting that’s scheduled to start at 10am? And I hear they got there as early as 4am. Why?”, former MP for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak asked.
