Many Ghanaians thought the kindness of the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was influenced by the 2020 elections campaign, particularly, towards the Muslim community.
And it will surprise you to know that his appetite in extending helping hand to those who truly need it has not waned, but, rather increasing by leaps and bounds.
As it is said elsewhere, his generousity in responding to the social, economic and health needs of people in the Muslims fraternity cannot be swept under the carpet.
Although, from scripture perspective, a good deed done for the sake of Allah must not be known by a third party.
But, when such gestures are not known as valuable information, people without such information will be left in the dark, most especially, when it is coming from a politician of his caliber, representing the second largest religious group in the country.
Social Media was flooded with message accompanied by a picture of a 15 years old girl, with photocopies of her BECE results slip and admission letter to study medicine at the University for Development Studies (UDS).
The purpose was to solicit for money to pay the admission fees of the girl whose father is unemployed and the family depending on the pure water business of the mother.
“Her Father is unemployed, the mother sells pure water for a living, she joins the mother to sell pure water after school, yet she’s able to come out with this results. She’s gotten admission to offer medicine at UDS, but she doesn’t have the money to pay the fees. Please any good samaritan on my list should kindly help this poor but brilliant girl, you can contact me so I then refer you to someone who can get her for you. Thank you in advance. May Allah provide a helper for the little girl!”, Dr. Seidu Fiter wrote on Facebook.
And in less than an hour or so, an aide to the vice president, Lawyer Akbar Yussif Khomeini also wrote on Facebook announcing that the second gentleman of the land has taken up to pay the fees.
“The Vice President has intervened in the case of the young Free SHS girl who has gained admission to read Medicine at UDS. He is paying for all her tuition fees. I believe this should end the sharing of her issue”, the young lawyer disclosed.
“We thank Allah for this intervention and may Allah continue to bless Dr. Bawumia…”, he added.
