Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has released money to pay for the first year fees of brilliant daughter to a pure water selling mother and unemployed father, who got admission to study medicine at University for Development Studies (UDS), but, could not afford the fees.

According to Dr. Seidu Fiter who disclosed this on Facebook, the former Deputy Education Minister under the erstwhile John Mahama administration saw his post with respect to the child’s situation and sent money down ASAP.

Meanwhile, the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had promised yesterday to pay the fees for the child too.

Read what Dr. Seidu Fiter wrote on Facebook:

We thank God good people still lives! We woke up to a sad story of Little Ilham who passed her WASSCE and got admission to pursue a medical course at the university for development studies and it was hanging on the thread because of lack of finance to pay her fees, we yesterday made posts here on social media to solicit for support and got good news from people promising to pay.

But as lucky as little Ilham is, I got a call from Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (NDC MP for North Tongu constituency) in the Volta region who woke up to read my post this morning and quickly sent money down for her first year fees, got her a new android mobile phone to do her online registration on the student portal as registration on the student portal started on Monday last week, he also promised to send a new DELL laptop tomorrow to aid her learning in school as handouts are not sold at the medical school; and so that is an important component of learning materials needed as a student.

He again promised and made a vow to take care of little Ilham tution fees throughout the Six years course including her accommodation for the period of her learning. Together we shall rise!
