Supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party NPP in the Yendi constituency have demonstrated to register their disappontment in the president, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo over what some of them described as “attempt to sideline Farouk Aliu Mahama in the current government”.

The demonstration was characterised by burning of used tyres on some principal streets in the Yendi township, while others were seen carrying placards with the inscription : “Nana Addo government must respect Dagban.” “Nana, you betrayed Yendi.”

Reliable information garthered by this portal says security personnel were intervened swiftly to bring the situation under control and calm has since returned to the place.

Meanwhile, a Facebook post coming from one Alhassan Fusheini indicates the MP is not aware of an early post in connection with the president not appointing him as Deputy Minister.

“DISCLAIMER! DISCLAIMER FROM Hon Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama .

My attention has been drawn to a write-up circulating on social media purporting to be coming from me.

I want to place on record that the piece is not my craft and does not represent my thoughts.

Immediately my attention was drawn to it I sanctioned the handlers of my page and directed that the write up be pulled down; same was effected at my behest. I do not share in the content of the piece neither does it sit with my upbringing.

Once again, the write-up was not my handiwork and must be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu MahamaMP, Yendi Constituency.”
