The managing editor for insight news paper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has questioned Government that is how that to run a secular state after Wesley Girl brouhaha in the country and said that government is doing mistake.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr on peace FM morning show hosted by Kwame Sefa Kyei today, Friday, 14th May 2021, stated that why should the country be put into the middle of religion when Muslim and Christians are having some few misunderstanding in the country.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr discuss that the constitution of the country has made laws for schools but religious groups are trying to go against the laws in the country and asked that what kind of mistake is this?

According to him, the problem is coming from Political parties whom believed that taking a Christian and Muslim person together as presidential candidates may win them power or election has caused all this.

He stated that this have led to some people making discriminatory statement against Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia which is not good. He said some people have said that Dr Bawumia can never be President in Ghana which is not a good thing to say.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr however stated that we are making mistakes by not observing the laws of the country and he does not see what is wrong with a Muslim attending Christian schools in the country and a Christian attending a Muslim schools.

He questioned that is Ghana not a secular state? If yes then the religious groups should follow the law and stop making “noise”.

However, he stated further that government is making mistakes by not handling the circular state well and questioned again that does secular state uses it money to build a church?

According to him, this is a mistake government is doing in building a cathedral for the church which generated a lot of argument on the show.

He explained that all what Ghanaians need is that they will get a good leader who will provide them with good drinking water, stop Galamsey and make sure dumsor never come back again.

He added that Ghanaians wants someone who will let their children go to school and be come a great people in future irrespective of the leaders religious beliefs.

According to Kwesi Pratt Jnr, some of the religious leaders should listen to their fellow religious leaders across the world and stop making “noise” in the country and follow the rules of the country. He used Pope as an example to them.

” What kind of mistake is this? If you’re a Christian or Muslim and so what? We have seen a lot of Christians and Muslims who are stealing from the nation. The state must take a lead in this development. The most important thing is to follow the law but what are we seeing today? We are seeing populism taken over us.
