Saboba 2020 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate and Ghana Supply Company Limited (GSCL) Managing Director), Abraham Binapadam Jawol has last Saturday made a donation to the Konkomba Youth Association (KOYA) to be shared among victims of the communal clashes in Tingbaln.
The items donated worth about GHS15, 000.00 were made of 15 bags of rice (25kilos), six bails of used clothes, two bags of salt and two bags of maize among other assorted goods supportive to the victims.
Addressing the media, the parliamentary candidate decried the dastard effect of conflict and condemned unreservedly without equivocation to all miner of inhuman and deviant behaviors towards individual persons and their cohabitants.
Mr Jawol underscored the need for sustainable peace in the constituency and admonished the traditional leadership of the feuding factions (Nankpandotiib and Binafeib) of Konkomba clans to ceasefire and cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in the restoration of peace.
He argued that the recent insecurity in the area is worrying and urged the two groups to give peace a chance and charged the security urgency to hasten investigation to unravel the cause of the clashes.
The KOYA treasurer Kennedy Bilawa Bikala receieved the goods on behalf of its president and assured the parliamentary candidate for a judicious and fair share of the goods among the victims to subsidies their hardship situation.
Mr Bikala also thanked him for the kind gesture and call on National Disaster Management Organisation, humanitarian organisations and private individual to see the need to support the victims to tame the raging hardship that erupted the area as a result of the recent clashes.
He added that KOYA represents Konkombas and was working tirelessly with the security agencies to ensure the feuding factions smoke peace pipe and perpetrators face the full rigors of the law.
In an interaction with some of the aggrieved residents, they faulted the security agencies for not managing the matter with balance and objectivity and begs the officers to up their game to avoid the fear of any reprisal attack which may escalate tension in the area.
The disgruntled residents also accused some educated individual for allegedly masterminding the recent clashes and wants them arrested immediately for their involvement in actions leading to shooting and killing one person leaving two other with severe injuries.
