The Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, has said that his explanations on why the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, didn’t use the presidential jet for his recent trips have been misconstrued by, an offshoot of Multimedia.

He said this in a letter addressed to the media giant following a publication with the headline – Akufo-Addo can’t even shower in presidential jet – “Nitiwul defends president’s alleged extravagant foreign travels” on June 16 edition of the portal.

“I find this false headline malicious, capricious and libellous mixed with propaganda intended to cause maximum political damage to the image of the President and my good self for life. I don’t intend to take this matter lightly as your misquoted headline which your attributed to me exposed me and the President to public ridicule”, the minister wrote.

“To say that your malicious and propagandist headline has injured my reputation and that of the President is an understatement. Please note that this will be the second time in less than 3 years that high ranking government officials of this administration will be dragging multimedia to the National Media Commission (NMC) because of alleged poor and unprofessional journalistic work if I proceed to do so”, he added.
