UE/R : NDC  women’s organizer donates tractor to support farmers


The Women’s Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the UpperEast Region, Hajia Charity Chariyam has denoted a brand new 4×4 tractor to support farmers in the region.

This donation is to support the people of Kpasenkpe and Adiego whose main occupation is farming.

The presentation was done at Kambog-Naa palace on Saturday, June 18 2021.

Addressing the media after the handing over, the regional women’s organizer said this was a promise she made to the people of the area hence it’s forfilment hoping that the gift presented would contribute to increase of food production.

She revealed that the tractor should have been donated about a year ago as promised but the situation changed after elections stolen verdict which according to her was aid by the Electoral Commissioner Madam Jean Mensah and Supreme court which at the time placed a temporary halt to it.

Hajia Charity, lamented over the struggle farmers of these go through especially women in their support to improve the comfort and support the education of the children.

About 70% of the women in the Northern Sector are engage in petty trading and planting of millet, ground nuts and vegetables in small scales.

Madam Charity then recounted the opportunities and support the then Mahama’s administration re-establish and boosting the country’s agricultural sector.

She therefore urged the people of these communities to put the tractor into good use.

Receiving the brand new tractor of behave of the two communities, Naa Achiri Moses Kwaku, Kabong-Naa of Kpasenkpe thanked the Upper East Women’s Organizer for her support that will relieve the two Communities and emphasized that the tractors would put maintain and put to good used.

He stated that the donation was timely as we are into the farming season and urged others to emulate the step by the Upper East Women’s Organizer, Hajia Charity Chariyam.
