IF THE POLITICAL LIBERATION OF NORTHERN REGION FROM CHAIRMEN SAMBA IS MISCONSTRUED TO MEAN TRIBAL BIGOTRY OR TRIBAL POLITICS THEN SO BE IT, THE TIME IS NOW.
In recent times there have been a political discourse among opinion-makers for chairman Samba to give way for someone from northern Region to take over the mantle of leadership of our great party in the region.
Following the discourse I got the impression that a whole lot of people are still not convinced of this call for Samba to give way. Unfortunately, they tagged those genuinely calling for Samba to leave as bigots or if you like tribal mongers.
I encourage all and sundry to check and cross-check the definition of tribal politics/tribal mongering and they will come to terms with the calls for Samba to leave. It has no link to tribal politics whatsoever. Those calling for Samba to move to North East to give way to someon who have a stake and is from Northern Region to take over can not be tribal mongers. It is a call in the right direction.
Tribal political is when Samba contributed financial and voted in a referendum towards the creation of a region (North East) but declined to represent the NPP in that same region simple because he want two Mamprusis to hold on to chairmanship positions of both Northern and North East regions.
Bigotry is when Samba used his position as Northern regional chairman to influence contracts to himself but intentionally refused to execute same because he is not from that region those contracts are situated. E.g Nantong district assembly complex, UDS Nyakpala campus -Kunbungu road, Zogbeli roads just to mention but a few.
Projects that have been awarded to contractors the same time those contracts were awarded to Samba are completed and are in use. It is tribalism that is keeping these contracts uncompleted.
Tribal politics is when Samba influenced the sacking of Dr Alhassan Sulemana Anamzoya a Dagbonba by tribe as the NDA boss and trying to bring someone from North East.
That is tribal politics. Those genuinely calling on Samba to go must intensify the calls. If the political liberation of Northern region from Samba is misconstrued to mean tribal politics so be it.
To those young activists who are against this genuine calls for Samba to leave, continue with it, posterity will judge each and everyone of you. For how long will you allow this political slavery and retardation of politics in northern region.
It is time for political liberation and no amount of ugly noise from the financial induced, self-proclaimed communicators/personal assistants can stop it. They should channel their energy in advising Samba to leave in peace.
