A section of Ghanaians purported to be supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC have lambasted former works and housing minister under the erstwhile NDC government to, Enoch Teye Mensah over his defense for the government’s stand on the Segleme Housing Project.Registering their anger in comments on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Facebook page, the supporters could not believe the former Ningo Prampram MP would take a stand countering that of the party through which he became a minister.”When I was young, I believed grey hair was a sign of wisdom. But you make it unattractive. To young men who aspire to be like you”, some of the supporters commented.Meanwhile, a member of the NDC, Mr Benjamin Essuman has filed a petition against Enoch Teye Mensah, former NDC Member of Parliament and current Member of the Council of State. The petition, which was addressed to the National Chairman of the NDC and the General Secretary of the party, was presented to the party’s secretariat at the National Headquarters, yesterday.Mr. Essuman in the petitlon, referred to an interview that Mr. E.T Mensah granted on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, on Tuesday 3rd August, in which the former MP and former Minister rubbished the claims of NDC and its National Communication Officer and which claims the he described on Metro TV as outright falsehoods. The petitioner cited provisions in article 47, 48 and 49 of the NDC Constitution as legal basis for his action and also grounds upon which ET Mensah must be dragged before the Disciplinary Committee. He is further demanding that Mr. ET Mensah per his conduct, be sanctioned for what the NDC Constitution describes as ‘anti-party behavior’.
