Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini has made a donation to Ghana Education Services (GES) in the Sagnarigu Municipal for onward distribution to some schools in Tamale North Constituency.

The event took place at the GES municipal office in the area in the presence of the benefitiary schools yesterday, August 9, 2021.

“We are here this morning to present dual desk (furniture) to some few schools in the district like we have done in the past. They are about 250 dual desk going to about five (5) schools. The desk accompany a set of office tables and chairs. That we hope will serve the purpose of administration in the schools”, the MP said at the occasion.

The benefitiary schools include Choggu Demonstration Primary ‘B’, Kanvili Tunaayili Nujumul Primary, Kanvili Tunaayili M.A Primary, Ulum Diniyat Primary and Junior High School (JHS) and Our Lady Primary and JHS.

The cost of the items is 48, 000 Ghana cedis, which is part of the MP’s share of Getfund 2020.

Alhaji Suhuyini also renovated a five classroom block belonging to Choggu Demonstration School that almost became a death trap.

The structure was reroofed, had its old doors and windows fixed and repainted.

Sagnarigu Municipal Director of Education, Alhassan Alidu Junior, who received the dual desks on behalf of the schools expressed gratitude to the MP for the gesture, adding that it will go along way to improve teaching and learning in the schools.

The director told the media that there is over 20,000 furniture deficit in the schools in the area, saying that some of the schools were also in deplorable state.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the constituents including benevolent organisations to support in rehabilitating deplorable classroom blocks in the area.
