A Muslim group of Tijaaniya youth calling itself Baye Do Everything has held its third seminar in Northern Region, in collaboration with Ansaroudeen Ghana on the theme – The Journey of A Righteous Mureed on Saturday, August 7.
Speaking to the media after the event, representative of the group and lead organizer of the program in the region, Abdul Rahman Jallo said it was proper to bring the program to the area to ensure every part of the country benefits from what they do.
“Baye Do Everything Seminar is the first of its kind in Tijaaniya in the country that was done in Accra. We formed the group in 2015. This is the first time a four hour educative program is held for the Tijaaniya youth in the northern region”, the organizer told the media.
When asked what was the main purpose for bringing it to the area, he answered, “This seminar main purpose is to educate our brothers and sisters out there. Not only on matters of Islam. But, issues bothering on society as well. That is why we invited DSP Horlatu who is DOVVSU Boss in the region to speak on Domestic Violence.”
Guest Speaker for the program, Sheikh Elias Ibn Umar of the Tijaaniya sect used the opportunity to advise the Tijaaniya youth on the effects of domestic violence, adding that the prophet himself preached against it when he was alive.
On his part, northern regional boss for Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), DSP Emmanuel Holartu Cudjoe said women are not only victims of domestic violence, disclosing that there a number of cases on his desk where wives are reported to have abused their husbands.
He however entreated men to always report cases of abuse by their wives for amicable resolution to prevent situation where some end up being killed.
