The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savelugu constituency in Northern Region has suspended a polling station executive for the party for what it described as “gross misconduct”.

In a letter sighted by, the three (3) persons, one Deishiní Abdallah Mustapha, a polling station secretary for New Town Mosque “A” has been suspended indefinitely for making allegations that some regional executives forced their colleagues to declare support for the vice president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as the NPP’s 2024 flagbearer.

“Pursuant to Article 4.7. (e) of the NPP Constitution, with further consultation with the Regional Executive committee, you (Mr.Deishiní Abdallah Mustapha) a polling station secretary for New Town Mosque “A” following your gross misconduct specifically by publicly making unsubstantiated wild allegations against both Constituency and Regional executives of using the polling station executives to enrich themselves to the detriment of the polling station executives”, the letter said.

“You subscquently circulated a video to that etfect on social media on Tuesday, 24 August,202. You further went on to grant interview on Radio diamond on Wednesday, 25 August 2021 to justify same allegations”, it added.

Following the allegations, the suspension letter which was signed by the constituency chairman, Alhaji Mahamadu Abdulai Kpong stated that Deishiní Abdallah Mustapha has been suspended from his position as poling station secretary for the party at New Town Mosque “A”.

“You have been suspended indefinitely as a polling station executive with immediate effect pending an inquiry into your conduct by the Savelugu Constituency Disciplinary Committee”, it concluded.
