“Now, I can tell you that the factory is fully completed. What is left with is operation. And that will soon start. Because it has been tested before”, he said while touring the factory.

It will be recalled that, in in August 2018, citinewsroom published a story titled – “1D1F: Yam processing factory 90% complete in Nanumba North District.

“The MCE revealed at a town hall meeting served as the first activity of the second phase of the 1 district 1 factory programme in the Northern Region.Speaking at the forum exactly two (3) years ago, Abdulai Yaqoub assured the people of the area that the factory could be operationalized by the end of the year upon a review of the proposal by the Global Almas to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Mr. Abdulai Yakubu used the opportunity to respond to concerns by some youth groups in the municipality over government abandoned projects including the Community Center promised by the MP for the area, Dominic Nitiwul.

According to him, the projects are two (2), one (1) in Bimbila and another one at Chamber, and they are funded by the MP, not assembly.

“The contractor told me he doesn’t want to do a shody work. And that is why the foundation has been left to sock enough water for easy compaction. The iron rods are lying down there. The 15 thousand blocks are also there. So the youth should exercise patience. It will soon finish for them to use”, he assured.

He however appealed to the youth to taken it upon themselves to guide the items against being stolen.
