A Tamale-based Queen Elizabeth Primary School has found itself in the wrong books of a section of social media over what many describe as “turning pupils into waste collectors”.

In a Facebook post written by one Tarimbia Saani accompanied with a 31 seconds video, Mr. Tarimbia wondered why six (6) students in the school uniform were made to drag two (2) waste bins to a dumping ground.

“These students are from Queen Elizabeth Primary school. They were seen dragging bins to the nearest refuse dump to empty them. No gloves, no nose mask. I took it at exactly 10:15 AM when others were in class learning. Why should authorities of that school turn the pupils to Zoomlion sanitation workers. This is not right. Tamale Metropolitan Education office must act on this. It is not right”, he wrote.

Commenting on the post, many people who described the purported action by the school authority as “an acceptable” believed the school management could employ adults to engage in such task, though, others also were convinced there was nothing wrong with that.
