The Manprugu Zaabuni Youth for Development, an association based in Northeast Region has extended its condolences to the family of the vice president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia following the death of his mother, Hajia Mariam Bawumia.

In a statement signed by president of the association, Musah Abdul Basit and copied to, the association indicated its sadness over Hajia’s passing, praying for Allah’s Mercy for her in her final resting place.

Manprugu Zaabuni Youth for Development however used the opportunity to call on the Bawumia’s family to find strength in Allah during this trying moments.

“The youth of Mamprugu have received with utter shock the passing of Hajia Mariama Bawumia, mother of H.E. the vice President of Ghana, Alhaj Dr. Mahmud Bawumia. The executives and council of elders of the Mamprugu Zaabuni Youth and in deed all the youth of Mamprugu are with H.E. Alhaj Mahmud Bawumia and the entire Bawumia family in this most challenging period of your life”, the statement read.

“Hajia Mariama lived a very fulfilled life while on earth and it’s therefore our prayer that Almighty Allah will forgive all her sins and admit her into Jannatul Firdaus as she is laid to rest today”, it added.

Themother of the Vice President, Dr Mahamud Bawumia, Hajia Mariama Bawumia has been laid to rest at Walewale in the North East region.

Hajia Mariama passed away peacefully on September 13,2021 in Accra.

The late Hajia Mariama Bawumia was born on September 15,1939 and died at the age of 82 years.

She has been buried at the same spot with her husband the late Mumuni Bawumia.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, led the Islamic prayers(Janaza) for the late Hajia Mariama Bawumia before her burial.

Vice President , Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, was accompanied by elders of the family to pay his last respect to his mother before her mortal remains was laid to rest at the family house.
