An association based in Northeast Region, known as Bawumia Youth Center, operates from Walewale has extended its condolences to the family of the vice president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia following the death of his mother on Monday, 13 September.

In a statement copied to ghdominancenews.com, signed by the association’s president, secretary, Nuhu Abdul Razak, the group described the late Hajia Mariam Bawumia as “God-fearing”, “honest” and “straightforward”.

According to the group, the latw Hajia Bawumia gave Ghana, and the world a first class vice president, by giving birth to the Dr. Bawumia, and this has lifted the name of Mamprugu on The world’s map.

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un (“We surely belong to Allah and to Him we shall return”)

The Office of Bawumia Youth Centre (BYC) Walewale, sends it’s condolences to His Excellency, the vice president of the republic of Ghana Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on the sudden demise of our Grandmother, Mother and auntie Hajia Mariama Bawumia in the early hours of Monday ,13th September 2021.

The news came as a great shock to us in particular, and the entire nation as a whole. Indeed, it is not quite long when our office had the opportunity to celebrate with our late mother on her last birthday at her residence in Walewale.

It was a very lovely day, filled with joy as we had so much fun with her. How we wish many of such days will come again!
We know it is a great loss to you and the entire family as a whole your Excellency but as a committed Muslim, we humbly wish to refer you to the the Quranic verse “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un” which is translated as “We surely belong to Allah and to Him we shall return”.

We are with you in prayers in this trying times and may the Almighty Allah console u.

Your Excellency, Hajia Mariama Bawumia was a mother to all. She was a mother to the motherless and will usually attend to whoever called on her. Not only was she a great person to her immediate family, she was an excellent mother with whom we spent memorable days with over the years. She had amazing homour and was a gifted storyteller.

She was God fearing, pious, prayerful, ready to share what she had with the poor and needy, honest and straightforward. With all these, we are of the believe that our late mother soul will be accepted by Allah with mercy and forgiveness. We pray that Allah almighty grant her jannatu Firdaws.
