Executive Director of Civil society organisation and pressure group, Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) Ghana, Mr Mensah Thompson has alleged that president Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has sidelined Voltarians in his government, especially in cabinet while filling same with his own people, the Akyems from Eastern Region.

Mensah Thompson who had been critical of the Akufo-Addo led government’s policies made this allegation on his Facebook page today Friday, September 17.

“Harmless question oo, where is Perry Okudzeto? So apart from Amewu and Kofi Dzamesi as Ministers and Pious Hadzide as NYA boss that’s it! So Ghana’s current cabinet has just one Voltarian and dozen Akyems?”, he wondered.

The ASEPA boss could not understand why the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be ungrateful to the Voltarians after the party has managed to win a seat with an increase in votes for the first time in the fourth republic.

He reminded the Voltarians that the NPP is not their party, and that they can never please the NPP.

“After delivering a Parliamentary seat for the NPP in Volta Region for the first time and a significant amount of votes for the President, they still got left out… interesting!”,

“When we tell them they don’t belong, they don’t believe us. Voltarians in the NPP must begin to wise up and understand that no matter beautiful the dance of the fowl is, it will never please the hawk!”, Mensah Thompson concluded.

“A word to a wise.”
