The Northern Regional Youth Organizer for the opposition Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Abdul Dahim Yakubu has defected to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Dahim made the announcement when he was speaking to the media in Tamale over his decision to join the NDC.
“I am going back to my mother party, NDC. Because PPP declining in strength to save Ghanaians from the current economic difficulties in the country”, he said.
“The NPP in government have killed thousands of businesses and rendered many youth jobless in less than 4 years. We need a party to save us from this wickedness. And only NDC can do that”, he concluded.
Mr. Dahim has served the PPP as deputy youth organizer and youth organizer until now.
His defection is one of many major defections from the PPP to the NDC, after the party’s former Salaga North parliamentary candidate defected to the NDC in the last elections.
He was also a regional communications team member for the party until his defection and once expressed interest to contest the Tamale Central Constituency seat on the party’s ticked in 2020 primaries.
