Paramount Chief of Mion traditional area, Naa Mahamadu Abdulai has allegedly banned the member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Abdul Aziz Ayaba from stepping foot in his palace, ghdominancenews.com can report.
According to multiple sources closed to the palace and in the NPP in the area, the MP, after failing to secure health insurance district manager for his preferred candidate became angry, blaming the chief for putting sand in his gari.
Mion-Lana is alleged to have successfully lobbied for the current Mion district manager, Alhaji Yakubu Baba who, until his appointment was the public relations officer for health insurance in the Yendi Municipality.
The sources also alleged that the not too happy MP organized some youth belonging to the party to demonstrate against the revered Mion-Lana, while using unprintable words on his person.
Further checks told this portal that the chief was dared to put up himself for the position next time, if he wants to be having stake in the political affairs of the NPP in the constituency.
This, according to the sources made the chief so incensed, leading to his decision to ban Mr. Aziz Ayaba from coming into the community, Mion.
“The MP is very worried as I am telling you. He has been going round pestering chiefs and party leaders to intercede on his behalf, but to no avail”, the sources said.
When asked which elders or party executive has so far made attempt to apologise to the chief for the attitude of the MP towards him, the sources answered, “Our MP begged Nba Dugi Yirisu and Sang Limam to talk to the chief, but they did not succeed. It seems all of them believe the chief is right.”
