Some supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Gushegu Municipality purported to be loyalists of the former Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Ziblim Iddi are crying of being witch-hunted by the current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Robert Yaja Dawuni and the Member of Parliament (MP), lawyer Hassan Tampuli.

Speaking to Sagani TV’s Inusah Hamza Lansah on Lahabali Tula on Monday, October 11 regarding the current impasse in the Constituency over the termination of contract of School Feeding Program caterers, one of the affected 23 persons, Mr. Fuseini Musah alleged that the MCE took the decision because of their relationship with the former MP.

According to the angry caterer, they have toiled so much to build the party in the constituency to its current state, only to be treated like tenants in their father’s house.

Fuseini Musah also blamed the MP for using the MCE to deny them of their daily bread by terminating their contracts.

“We voted for Lawyer Hassan Tampuli when the party decided that he should lead us into the elections. We did not care where we belonged to or who we were supporting. And if this is how he wants to pay us back, God is watching”, the sacked caterer said.

He also used the opportunity to call on the chairman Samba led executves of the NPP in the Northern region to look into the matter, adding that the sections of the MP and MCE are destroying the party in the constituency.

But reacting to the termination of the contracts on radio Tamale’s Tudu Yeligbahira earlier today, the MCE denied that it was due to their affiliation with the former MP that led to the decision, saying that it was due to their incompetence.

It will be recalled that the NPP chairman for the Gushegu constituency, Mohammed Majeed, popularly known as Majeed Jibga stormed the training ceter in June this year with party thugs to threaten the district Census Officer, Alhassan Issahaku popularly known as Kazankpa to take off some names purported to be supporters of the former MP.

Alhassan Issahaku however disclosed that the whole thing boils down to internal political wrangling between the camps of the former and current MPs ; Dr. Iddi Ziblim’s and Lawyer Tampuli’s camps.
