Members of Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) in the northern region have commended the leadership of the association in the area for giving much attention to the welfare of teachers.

This, was disclosed at the northern regional office of CCT when Mr. Issifu Abdul Fatawu, who is the branch secretary for the Tolon District took delivery of the end of year parckage given to his members by the association today, Monday, October 18.

“I am here to pick the end of year parckage for my branch. On behalf of the branch, we want to thank the CCT, the union for the kind gesture. And the want to urge all members to team together as teachers, so that we will see the forward movement of the union”, he said.

“The Association has done very well. As a teacher, I have been in the profession for eleven (11) years. And when you look at what we are now getting from teaching, it is far better than when CCT was not there. CCT has now come to put pressure on the employer, and things are now getting better for us. CCT is a union every teacher should join”, the Tolon branch secretary revealed.

Presenting the parckage on behalf of the Association in the northern region, CCT’s acting Regional Chairman, Mr. Seidu Abdulai Naporo told that the Association is giving about 2, 500 bags of rice and cooking oil to be distributed to their members across the region.

“Coalition of Concerned Teachers, we do give our members end of year parckage to celebrate Christmas. And fortunately on our part, we have received about 2, 500 bags of rice and cooking oil as end of year parckage. We have called all the district chairmen and their secretary to hand over the items for onward distribution to all CCT members. We have been doing this. Last year, we give them t-shirts, face towels, and nose masks”, the acting chair said.

“We still have different parckages for our members. We give loans. We give lands for our members. We in collaboration with chiefs in the northern region to see if we can get a piece of land for our members known as CCT village. We also have intention to go into automobile, giving motorbikes to our members and even cars”, Mr. Naporo added.

CCT however used the opportunity to thank the national executives led by the president, Mr. King Ali Awudu for delivering of this year’s “end of year” package.
