Road users on the Nantong to Gushegu highway have expressed disappointment over the nature of road connecting the two (2) communities in the northern region, describing the MPs therein as careless.

Speaking on Sagani TV’s Lahabali Tula monitored by ghdominancenews.com, some of the motorists said they couldn’t understand why the road has been in deplorable state over the years even when the two (2) members of parliament whose constituencies the road connects are all part of the governing New Patriotic Party.

“The road has been like that for years. The contractors are exhibiting lukewarm attitude towards the works. The Gushegu and Nantong MPs are all part of NPP government, yet we can’t get the attention we want”, a motor rider told Sagani TV’s Inusah Hamza Lansah.

“We voted the NPP because we want development here. And God answered our prayers by helping our MPs to become ministers under the Akufo-Addo’s government. Yet, our main problems are neglected”, another motorist said.

The 20l16, the construction of the road was started by the then Mahama led NDC government, which was divided into three (3) parts for different contractors, a resident of Nantong said.

Congratulating the Gushegu MP on his nomination as deputy transport minister, Concerned Gushegu Youth Association wrote, “In as much as the group is excited and happy about the MP’s appointment (as deputy transport minister), it is equally our singular honour to admonish the Hon. MP to use his good office for as Deputy Transport Minister when confirmed for the betterment and development of our beloved Gushegu Constituency in particular and Ghana as a whole.”

“We would like to appeal to Hon.
Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli to priories the Gushegu-Karaga-Tamale road whose construction began in the erstwhile Mahama regime and facilitates its swift competition since Ministry has a direct link with the Ministry of Roads and Highways”, the message added.
