Outspoken radio personality and musician, Blakk Rasta has expressed his disappointment in the vice president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia for his description of the former president, John Dramani Mahama as “Mallam John”.
Speaking on his Thursday’s, November 18 edition today on a segment of the Taxi Driver Show dubbed – Black Pot, the musician said the vice president who is a Muslim should be happy a Christian was able to quote Quranic verses and hadiths effortlessly.
“Do you pray? You only pray during funerals and Sala…”, he angrily told the Veep.
“Mahama quoted authentic Hadith. Preached to the people. The whole Maulid in the presence of the chief Imam aplauded Mahama. And out of jealousy and defeat. That defeatist attitude, Bawumia comes to stand there and is making a mockery of a Christian who found his way to the mosque. Instead of encouraging him, you are laughing at your own buffoonery”, he added.
According to him, the chief Imam should have asked Bawumia to apologise to president Mahama, which he was shocked did not happen.
Blakk Rasta described himself as a sad person who watched the vice president make mockery of a man who only did his best to cement the relationship between Muslims and Christians.
Dr. Bawumia described the former president John Dramani Mahama as “Mallam John” when he was addressing a gathering of Muslims at New Fadama in Accra in the wee hours of Saturday to mark the birthday (Maulid) of Prophet Mohammed.
The event, which was marked with preaching and prayers, was on the theme; “Global peace, tolerance a collective responsibility for all”.
So far, well-meaning Ghanaians including the APC founder, Dr. Hassan Ayariga have condemned the vice president for his actions, saying it will destroy the beautiful relationship between the two religions.
