Some residents of Zogbeli electoral area, a suburb of Tamale Metropolis have given assemblyman for the area, Issahaku Hamza, a period of two (2) weeks to bring back contractor he led demonstration against to the site.
The residents gave the grace period when they were speaking on Sagani TV yesterday, November 30 following a series of demonstration that led to the contractor parking out.
They alleged the assemblyman and his team were working to please their paymaster who sponsored them to demonstrate against the contractor working on the Zogbeli inner roads, chairman Samba.
According to them, if there was someone to be brought to complain to, it should be someone from the governing NPP with greater influence, but not the MP, who is coming from the opposition NDC.
Angry residents believed the demonstrations are not for genuine purpose, else they would a have joined the assemblyman and his team to register their displeasure.
The Concerned Youth of Zogbeli about a month ago embarked on demonstration over what they described as shoddy work by Chairman Samba construction firm.
The youth have a number of reasons that informed their decision to stage the demonstration.
Lack of enough cement, failure of the contractor to reposition electric poles in the middle of the roads and gutters and inability to reposition water pipes found in the gutters.
But speaking to the media last week, the group commended the contractor for fixing some of the problems they earlier on raised, adding that more needs to be done.
