The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has been hit hard yet again with another resignation in the party in northern region.
In a statement sighted by ghdominancenews.com, signed by the outgone member who untill now was the northern regional secretary for party, Mohammed Nuhu Jingli said his decision to resign from the CPP was “personal and based on principle”.
According to him, he was also the Deputy General Secretary (Operations) besides his position as Regional Secretary of the party.
“I write to officially resign from my position as the Northern Regional Secretary, Deputy General Secretary (Operations) and a member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP)”, he wrote.
“Kindly be informed that the decision of my resignation is personal and based on principle I wish to send my heartfelt gratitude to the rank and file of the party for the confidence they conferred on me by appointing me as the Deputy General Gecretary (Operations) and also electing me to serve as Northern Regional secretary for two consecutive terms”, the former Regional Secretary added.
In March this year, theformer parliamentary candidate for Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region on the ticket of the party for the 2020 Elections, Nabila Alhassan Basiru also resigned from the party.
Mr Nabila Alhassan Basiru was a staunch member of the party who rose through the ranks to become a national youth organizer and later parliamentary candidate.
He gave no clear reason for his sudden resignation but noted that he will take advantage of his resignation to concentrate on his family and private life before making an announcement of what he intends to do politically later.
It will be recalled that a publication on myjoyonline February 2012 with the headline – More resignations to hit CPP due to Samia’s political inexperience – Sekou“, predicted in detail, what is happening today.
