Kumawood actress, Matilda Asare has expressed her disappointment in the Akufo-Addo’s government saying she has regretted voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into power.

She disclosed this when she commented on’s story on Facebook headlined – “If You Want an iPad, Go and Buy It Yourself – NPP Communicator Tells Teachers Over TM1 Laptop Complaints”.

“I regretted voting for NPP”, she commented on the post on’s Facebook page tonight Tuesday, December 14.

It will be recalled that in March 2017, the Kumawood actress named her newly born baby after Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Matilda Asare who devoted much of her time during the 2016 elections campaign with six her (6) months pregnant campaigned energetically to ensure candidate Nana Addo become president, is clearly not happy today.

Before the elections, the actress slammed president John Mahama’s government on any platform given.

A publication on said “Kumawood actress, Matilda has lambasted the Mahama-led administration for bringing untold hardships on Ghanaians, as it has lost political direction”.

She made those comments when she was speaking to Kumasi based Ashh FM, alleging that the ruling NDC Government collapsed all social interventions which were implemented by the erstwhile Government led by the former president Kufuor, hence didn’t deserve another term of office.

She convinced that, Ghanaians were in anguish under John Mahama’s ‘unfocused’ governance.

“If I Matilda is okay in life, doesn’t mean that everybody is okay, so a proper policies must be implemented to create avenue for  the ordinary Ghanaian’’.
