The attention of the Office of Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has been drawn to an overstrained news item widely circulating on social media to the effect of the above caption-If Samba doesn’t win NPP chairmanship, I’ll resign as Yendi MP

In strangely amusing manner, the online tabloid behind this publication and circulation,, have clearly cited grapevine as their source of the publication.

As a careerist realist and a pragmatic political figure, Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama has never mince words about his support for the reelection bid of Chairman SAMBA but on no platform and at no point has he said he will call it a quit if it does not go his way.

For the avoidance of doubt and for the purposes of clarity, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama granted interview on Diamond FM this morning where he talked about the strides he is making towards the development of the Yendi Constituency and also indicated his inclination for the candidacy of Chairman SAMBA but to publish to the extent that he contended he will resign is far-fetched, absurd and overdosed.

In respect of this, we request the to forthwith cease and desist from circulating or making any further misrepresentations of the Honorable Member statements or misreport anything relative to him. We, whence, further request that managers of the portal to pull back the news item and accordingly apologize.
