The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Choggu West Electoral Area, Dawuda Jentuma has been suspended from his position in the party for flouting directives given by the NPP regional chairman, Mohammed Bantima Samba.
In a letter sighted by ghdominancenees.com, signed by the NPP Constituency Chairman for Tamale Central Constituency, Mohammed Ibrahim the party says, “Pursuant to Article 3 Clause 7 (1) of the constitution of the New Patriotic Party, this letter constitutes official notice of your indefinite suspension as Choggu West Electoral Area Coordinator for the New Patriotic Party in the Tamale Central Constituency.”
“You have also been referred to the constituency disciplinary committee for investigation for a complaint of
misconduct Specifically, on Tuesday January 4, 2022 you were in the studios of Radio Tamale for a live radio programme to ostensibly promote the bid of Hon Alan Kyerematen for 2024″, the letter further stated.
It will be recalled that these supporters of NPP presidential candidate hopeful, Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng dared the party’s Northern Regional chairman, Mohammed Bantima Samba and his colleagues to suspend them, if they have they power.
The Choggu West Electoral Area Coordinator, Dawuda Jentuma said this when he was speaking on disregard for the party’s code of conduct and directives set by Chairman Samba early banning all campaigns for presidential candidates in the region.
“We heard they are going to suspend us if this program (Alan Dundong’ni) comes off tonight. And we are dating them to so, if they have the balls”, Mr. Dawuda Jentuma, lead member of the Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng said on Radio Tamale’s evening political talkshow.
“How can you give out directives and turn around to disregard it?”, he asked.
He cited the NPP Northern Regional Secretary, Alhaji Sibdow, Regional Youth Organizer, Ghana Alhassan, and some Constituency Executives who have so far flouted the rules.
This add to an already suspension in less than 24 hours for similar offenses in the the party.
Until Jentuma’s suspension, a member of the Communications Team belonging to NPP in Northern Region, Alhaji Ibrahim Kaleem was also suspended for defying directives banning any form of campaign for presidential candidates hopefuls.
“My attention has been drawn to your participation in a program on Radio Tamale (a Tamale based radio station) designed for the sole purpose of advancing the campaign of a purported flag bearer aspirant. This program and your participation in same is in clear violation of a directive issued by the Northern Regional chairman of the NPP for party people to cease, among others, all media engagements purporting to campaign for flag bearer hopefuls”, the NPP Regional Communications Director, Mohammed Ibrahim Sherrif wrote.
“As you are aware, this directive of Chairman was pursuant to an earlier directive issued by National Council under the signature of the General Secretary and in sync with article 18 of the New Patriotic Party Constitution”, he added.
