Mohammed Abubakari Naporo, known in the media fraternity as DJ Parara has has declared his intention to constest for the position of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Youth Organizer in Mion Constituency.
In a Facebook post on January 6, he wrote that he has been supportive of the NPP activities in the Mion Constituency in kind and cash, emphasizing that he was born into the Danquah-Busia-Domobo tradition.
According to the Sankara radio general manager, his late mother was Constituency Women’s organizer in the Tolon Constituency, where he started voting for the party.
“I started voting as a Citizen of Ghana in Nyankpala D/A primary school and later moved to my father’s land (Sang in Mion constituency) to continue with my politics. I started voting in sang under mion constituency in the year 2000 till date and not just a mere voter but always add my contributions both in kind and in cash to support the Great NPP”, he wrote.
“I want to used this opportunity to inform all my family and friends here that I have made my mind to go to my constituency and contest for the position as NPP YOUTH ORGANIZER IN MION CONSTITUENCY and I need your support to go through. God bless you all for your support and may the victory come to us in God’s name”, Parara added.
He said after fifteen (15) years in the the media and entertainment industry, he is venturing into Mainstream politics.
Many political analysts say with DJ Parara as NPP Youth Organizer in the Mion Constituency, the seat is likely to be retained by the governing New Patriotic Party in 2024.
The seat was know to be the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), untill the last elections when the NPP’s Aziz Ayaba won it with a wide margin to defeat NDC Mohammed Abdul Aziz.
