The Northern Regional Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), through the party’s youth organizer, Mohammed Alhassan (Ghana) has condemned the recent police shooting in the Lamashegu, a suburb of Tamale.
He said this in a press release today Tuesday, February 15, copied to ghdominancenews.com following the swift interdiction of the police officers involved.
“We join the people of Lamashegu in Tamale to condemn the unprofessional behavior of the five police officers of the Ghana police service who are currently under interdiction for their vulgar display of unprofessionalism and disregard for tradition at the Lamashe-Naa Palace”, the release said.
“It is disheartening listening to the narration of the unfortunate death of Hakeem and 4 others who sustained gunshots wounds during the sporadic shooting of these interdicted officers. We are entreating the Ghana Police Service to expedite the investigations they have begun to bring finality to the matter at hand and Ict justice takes its rightful course. In as much as we recognize the hard work and dedication of numerous officers of the service in Tamale, it
appears a few of them is burnt on destroying the cordiality that is supposed to exist between the police and thc people”, the release added.
