Former Northern Regional Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr. Mohammed Nuhu Jingli has reacted to allegations making rounds on various social media platforms that he was paid 200, 000 thousand Ghana cedis by the Tamale North Constituency MP, Alhassan Suhuyini to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking exclusively to ghdominancenews.com on the matter, Mr. Jingli said it was unfortunate that people will stoop so low, reducing party politics to money over ideologies.
“I joined the NDC because I was convinced by the party’s ideologies, which I believed will help transform the country if given the chance to oversee the affairs of Ghana once more”, he said.
“I was never given a dime to join the NDC. I had already made up my mind to be part of the party when I resigned from CPP few months ago. So it is not true I was given 2 billion old cedis”, he added.
On December 1 last year, Mr. Nuhu Jingli formally resigned as a member of the party CPP and Northern Regional Secretary. This was contained in a statement released on Wednesday in December 1, 2021.
Mr Nuhu in the statement copied to the National Chairman of the CPP said that the decision for his resignation is personal and takes immediate effect.
“Kindly be informed that the decision of my resignation is personal and based on Principle.”
Meanwhile, one of the critical objectives for the establishment of the CPP is to serve as a vigorous, conscious political vanguard for removing all forms of oppression and for the establishment of a democratic government.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini has welcome the new member into the NDC his office last week at parliament house.
