Speaking at the ceremony, leader of the group,  Chief Takoro Alidu Yakubu popularly known as Bullet told the media that they had to take the decision upon several unfulfilled promises  between them and the NPP leadership in government.

According to Bullet, the NPP in opposition promised to give them jobs and financial support to start their businesses, only to neglected by the party after winning elections since 2016.

“We were promised of jobs and money to help our wives start their businesses. But since the NPP came to power in 2016, non of their leaders has remembered that we exit. I lost my fingers because of the party”, he said.

“We only to thank Alhaji Fuzak in NDC for his kindness towards us. If not before of him, we would have died of hunger in this government”, Bullet added.

Welcoming them into the NDC on behalf of the party leadership, the Regional Communications Officer, Fuseini Abdul Mumin reminded the group of the NDC constitution, adding that they should be guided by it.

“We are here upon invitation by the NDC Tamale Central Constituency executives. To witness the mass defection (that has hit the NPP) in the Aboabo ward NPP activists. The names that accompanied this defection are popular names. And so we can not take them for granted. We know the kind of opposition we have received from this the group in the Aboabo branch. They have been used as vote making machine for NPP here”, he told the media.

“The NDC is a party of rules. The NDC is a party of discipline. It is a party for the people. And for that matter these new defectees will be given the necessary coaching of the NDC constitution. So that they will work within the remit of the NDC party”, the Communications Officer concluded.

He was accompanied by the Deputy Regional Organizer, Alhaji Majeed, Tamale Central Constituency Youth Organizer, Awal Mbeima and hundred of party supporters.
