The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Women’s Organizer hopeful, Hajia Suraiya Manan has taken to her Facebook wall to celebrated women as the world marks International Women’s Day today, March 8, 2022.
According to her, women have significant role to play in the development of Ghana and the world, especially those defy the odds to go beyond the societal expectations to make a difference.
“Today is an opportunity for us to celebrate all the fantastic women in Northern Region, Ghana and the world at large”, she wrote.
“I want to use this occasion as an opportunity to express my gratitude to women who are constantly breaking grounds and boundaries, stereotypes, defying odds and not bound by societal expectations. Keep the flag flying and the fire burning! We see you! Happy International Women’s Day”, she added.
Displaying pictures on her Facebook wall, she indicated that her excellency, Ghana’s ambassador to America, Hajia Alima Mahama, the NPP national women’s organizer, madam Kete Gyamfou and other women contributed greatly in making her a better person.
Every year, March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day to celebrate the cultural, political, and socio-economical achievements of women.
Moreover, March also marks the beginning of Women’s History Month across the globe. It starts on March 1 and ends on March 31.
This year, the theme for International Women’s Day is ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’.
