The NDC former Northern Regional Organizer, Godfred Apasinaba Wumbei popularly known as Yellow Man has made a presentation of large quantity of blood to the Tamale Teaching Hospital to save lives
Mr. Yellow Man who described the gesture as “a game changer” said if the NPP initiave, Zibline was to doing much as Ghanaians were promised, there wouldn’t be shortage of blood in the region, let alone in the hospital.
“This is my way of supporting the TTH to save lives. It is an annual event my team and I embark on every year, using this to mark my birthday which falls on 13th March. So I always organize my team and some NDC supporters to come and donate to the facility”, he said.
“I am not going to do politics with this. But the information reaching indicates patients have been dying for lack of blood. And if the Zibline was to be working, we wouldn’t witness this”, he added.
Mr. Yellow also called on individuals and organisations to take up on themselves to ensure they visit the hospital regularly to donate blood to save more lives.
Yellow Man and his team have been doing this since 2015, which the hospital had described as a yeoman’s job.
On the part of TTH’s blood bank, the staff thanked the team for the initiave, saying that the gesture has gone a long way to save a lot of lives, for blood is an essential part of human life.
The TTH assured Mr. Yellow Man that they will put the blood donated to good use, adding that there is no cause for alarm.
